Soccer... Fight... or Friendly....

Wassup man... Today was soccer was damn exciting... not just because of the soccer but because of the fight(that almost happened)... HOWEVER... I must say that watching a fight is always more fun and exciting ( and less painful ) than being in one!!!

So the history... For the past few months (about 4 or so...) my friends and i have been playing at this Street soccer court at AMK... and there's this other regular group of youngsters whom we have been playing with and against friendly games.. of course when we first played with them there was much hostility in the air as male testosterone filled the air like a smoke bomb. Competition was much greater as we pitted our skills against theirs to see who came out each weekend the better players... Over this 4 months we have devoloped a feel for our usual opponents and vice versa. As such the mutual understanding between us grew and now we acknowledge each others presence friendly waves and smiles...

As such when any other team ( new guys ) show up they are shown the same hostilty that we showed each other and our aim of that week is to win that team( the new one)...

So last week this particular team showed up (all manjans). they seem to be in their early 20s.. So the games were going fine with the common goal of winning that team... Hower i think that teams goal was to brak someones leg...!!! There was this guy wearing orange(shall call him O from henceforth). So O was playing quite rough( kicking leg instaed of the ball, Flying tackles, Excessive body contact.. ie shoving and pushing too much). There was this other guy( from our khakhi... shall call him chilli padi... coz he's short but good!!) So O made a sliding tackle on Chillipadi first time almost taking his leg out... he apologised... so we thought it was a genuine lapse of concentration and it was without malice... it was ok... Second time he apologised again... we thought this guy is really enthusiastic... But some of our more vocal players decided to shout "hey play soccer la... dun fight la... relax abit... its only a friendly.. " ( well not in those exact words but somewher along those lines...)

So a normal person in that circumstance would :
(a) Relax on the tackles
(b) Take a break and come back in later
(c) go play at a different position to subside the tension
(d) all of the above

Well the answer would be (d) all of the above...!!

So What do u think O did... ?
(a) Relax on the tackles
(b) Take a break and come back in later
(c) go play at a different position to subside the tension
(d) all of the above
(e) Continue to aim for Chillipadi's legs with the intension of breaking it

He chose E!!!! another 3 times he kept doin it over and over again!!!

Luckily they lost and they decided to leave after that game...

This week however... the team came back again... guess theye didn't have enough legs last week... When they played with my team... they showed their same antics again... And again it was O going at the feet of our players!! Not only that there was another guy in their team who seemed to suffering the same disease as O... Stupid fuckers!! WellObviously Vadi being the emotionally affected of us all decided to give them a taste of their own medicine and of course his friend Chai decided to join him in the action... So there was just a period of hard tackles and bodies flying everywhere... Anyone walking past may have thought it was a Royal Rumble wrestling match... Uptil a Point of time... where someone said smth to Vadi and he being the fighter he is ( with hot Indian blood running through his veins to add) decided to talk back... then the play stopped and an exchage of words among these 2 fellas ensued... they had to be brought apart to be calmed and i tell u calming vadi was not easy... he was ready for the fight... actually to tell u the truth all the 24 ppl of our Khakhi were ready as all of us were getting tired of O and his team and the way they played... so if there was going to be a fight, it would be 24 vs 6... 4 of us for every one of them!! So they were smart enough to back off and shut their mouths when they did... and our game with them resumed shortly... with Vadi scoring the winner just to add fuel into the fire...!!:P

We continued playing and the mood became lighter as the games went along... However the tension in the air remained so fine that we could cut it with a knife... so O and his team knew what they were up against and decided to play it a notch down... but too bad we could'nt play with them again as the rain started pouring like a wave passing through the area...

well that was quite an eventful saturday... I really wanna see if they come next sat... see if they had learnt their lesson!! tsk tsk...

Moral of the day: What goes around Comes around, KarmA...!!
